Nickel prices gain on sustained demand

Nickel, brass and select copper prices rose further at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockist buying amidst sustained demand from industrial users.

While, tin, copper sheet cutting, zinc and lead slipped owing to reduced demand from consuming industries.

Nickel jumped by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 925 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 920.

Copper cables scrap, copper billets and brass sheet cutting moved up by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 457, Rs 485 and Rs 352 from Rs 455, Rs 483 and Rs 350, respectively.

Copper armiture and brass utensils scrap edged up by a Re per kg each to Rs 442 and Rs 336, respectively.
 

However, tin dropped by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 1,465 from Rs 1,475 and Copper sheet cutting eased by Rs 2 per kg to 435 as against Rs 437.

Aluminium utensils scrap, zinc and lead prices softened by a Re per kg each to Rs 123, Rs 245 and Rs 173, respectively.
