Nickel prices regained in an otherwise listless non-ferrous metal market here today due to stockist buying amidst good demand from alloy industries.
The industrial metal was little changed at the LME, hurt by evidence of economic cooling in top consumer China but buttressed by signs of a growth revival in the US.
Nickel climbed by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 995 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 990.

Zinc and copper scrap heavy inched-up by Re 1 per kg each to Rs 174 and Rs 506.
However, tin and brass sheet cutting moved down by Rs 2 per kg each to Rs 1,535 and Rs 360 as against Rs 1,537 and Rs 362, respectively.
