Nickel slips on subdued demand

Nickel prices slipped at the non-ferrous metal market here today on stockist selling amidst subdued demand from alloy industries.

Meanwhile, aluminium ingot rose due to good demand from industrial users.

The industrial metal was trading flat at the LME in early trade near three-month lows but was set to chalk up a weekly loss as worries over demand growth in top consumer China weighed on prices.

Nickel fell by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,210 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 1,215.

Lead edged-down by a Re per kg to Rs 137.

However, aluminium ingots climbed by Rs 4 per kg to Rs 169 as against Rs 165 yesterday.
 

Copper scrap heavy, copper utensils scrap and copper sheet cutting inched-up by a Re per kg each to Rs 475, Rs 439 and Rs 460, respectively.
