Nickel softens on reduced industrial demand

Nickel prices eased by Rs 2 per kg at the local non-ferrous metals market today due to reduced industrial demand.

However, other base metals held steady in limited deals.

Traders said sluggish demand from alloy makers led to decline in nickel prices.

In the national capital, nickel (4x4) fell by Rs 2 to Rs 1,051-1,056 per kg.

Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):

Zinc ingot 116-122, Nickel plate (4x4) 1,051-1,056, Gun metal scrap 227, Bell metal scrap 229, Copper mixed scrap 400, Chadri deshi 285.

Lead ingot 106, Lead imported 107, Aluminium ingots 162, Aluminium sheet cutting 163, Aluminium wire scrap 165 and Aluminium utensils scrap 162.
