Nickel strengthens on persistent demand

Nickel prices strengthened at the non-ferrous metal market here today following buying by stockists amid persistent demand from alloy industries.

While, copper and brass utensils scrap slipped due to subdued offtake from industrial users.

Nickel climbed by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 800 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 795.

Zinc inched-up by a Re per kg to Rs 184.

However, copper cables scrap, copper armature, copper utensils scrap, copper wire bar, copper sheet cutting and brass utensils scrap all softened by a Re per kg each to Rs 379, Rs 361, Rs 338, Rs 407, Rs 355 and Rs 270, respectively.
