Nickel strengthens on sustained demand

Nickel strengthened at the non-ferrous metals market here today on stockists' buying amid sustained demand from alloy industries.

Elsewhere, copper and lead also gained owing to good demand from industrial users.

Nickel prices rose by Rs 15 per kg to Rs 750 from Wednesday's close at Rs 735 and copper scrap heavy edged up by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 422 as against Rs 420 yesterday.

Copper cable scrap, copper utensils, copper billets, copper sheet cuttings and lead also inched up per kg each to Rs 431, Rs 378, Rs 459, Rs 401 and Rs 163, respectively.
