Nickel, tin drop on subdued demand

Nickel and tin dropped in an otherwise dull non-ferrous metal market here today on stockist selling amid subdued demand from the industrial users.

Elsewhere, select brass and zinc also eased on lower offtake from consumer industries.

The industrial metal copper trading lower in early trade, as investors took profits after prices failed to build on gains after reaching their highest in two months last week, suggesting lukewarm appetite from consumers despite the peak season for demand.

Nickel dipped by Rs 15 per kg to Rs 1,245 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 1,260 and tin slipped by Rs 5 to Rs 1,610 from Rs 1,615 previously.
 

Brass sheet cutting and zinc softened by a Re per kg each to Rs 359 and Rs 173.

However, copper sheet cutting and aluminium utensils scrap inched up by a Re per kg each to Rs 476 and Rs 129 respectively.
