Nickel weakens on subdued demand

Nickel prices weakened further at the non-ferrous metal market here today following stockists selling amid subdued demand from alloy industries.

Elsewhere, copper and brass utensils scrap eased owing to mild demand from industrial users.

Nickel prices dropped by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 870 from Thursday's close Rs 880 and brass utensils scrap moved down by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 305 as compared Rs 310 yesterday.

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper armature, copper wire bar and copper sheet cuttings softened by a Re per kg each to Rs 408, Rs 402, Rs 386, Rs 436 and Rs 381, respectively.
