Nickel, zinc down on global cues

Prices of nickel and zinc fell upto Rs 5 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today on weak global trend amid subdued demand from consuming industries.

Traders said apart from a weak trend overseas, sluggish demand from domestic consuming industries mainly led to decline in select metal prices.

Meanwhile, nickel was 1.6 per cent lower at USD 9,045 a metric tonne in Shangahi.

In the national nickel plate (4x4) fell by Rs 5 to Rs 862-867, while zing ingots shed Rs 2 at 102-108 per kg respectively.

Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):

Zinc ingot Rs 102-108, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 862-867, Gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, Copper mixed scrap Rs 346, Chadri deshi Rs 295.
 

Lead ingot Rs 86, Lead imported Rs 92, Aluminum ingots Rs 142, Aluminum sheet cutting Rs 138, Aluminum wire scrap Rs 138 and Aluminum utensils scrap Rs 136.
