Nickel, zinc recover on renewed industrial demand

Nickel and zinc recovered moderately in an otherwise sluggish non-ferrous metal market here today on renewed stockists buying as well as good offtake from alloy industries.

While, Tin, copper and brass declined further due to poor demand from consumer industries.

Nickel spurted by Rs 20 per kg to Rs 970 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 950 and zinc rose by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 173 from Rs 170.

However, tin weakened by Rs 20 per kg to Rs 1,310 previous closing level of Rs 1,330 and copper utensils scrap moved down by Rs 3 per kg to Rs 405 from Rs 408.
 

Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper armiture, copper wire bar, brass utensils scrap and brass sheet cutting all eased by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 441, Rs 436, Rs 427, Rs 461, Rs 317 and Rs 326 as against Rs 443, Rs 438, Rs 429, Rs 463, Rs 319 and Rs 328 respectively.

Copper sheet cutting also softened by a Re per kg to Rs 423.
