Nickel, zinc soften on reduced offtake

Prices of nickel and zinc eased up to Rs 3 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today owing to slackened demand from consuming industries.

However, other base metals moved in a narrow range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.

Traders said reduced demand from consuming industries, mainly kept pressure on nickel and zinc prices.

In the national capital, nickel plate (4x4) and zinc ingots fell by Rs 3 and Rs 2 to Rs 895-900 and Rs 110-116 per kg, respectively.

Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):

Zinc ingot Rs 110-116, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 895-900, Gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, Copper mixed scrap Rs 364, Chadri deshi Rs 295.
 

Lead ingot Rs 94, Lead imported Rs 100, Aluminium ingots Rs 148, Aluminium sheet cutting Rs 144, Aluminium wire scrap Rs 144 and Aluminium utensils scrap Rs 142.
