With motifs of actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Amjad Khan and Zeenat Aman on the garments and the ramp music having famous dialogues, fashion designer Nida Mahmood today paid a tribute to Indian cinema on its centenary year through her collection.

Titled as 'Bombay Bioscope', her collection on the day one of Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) Spring/Summer 2014 brought the timelessness of Indian cinema.

"My collection is an ode to the glorious 100 years of Indian cinema. The collection is for somebody who is intrigued by cinema and it would have been a sacrilege for not having worked on a concept at this point of time when India completes 100 years of cinema," Nida, herself a cinema buff, said.

"I felt that the timelessness of moving pictures is completely in comparison with the stars in the constellation. So, the film stars we have today epitomise character which live forever," she said.

Her collection comprised Bengal tant sarees, 3D metallic dresses, and dresses. Model dazzled on the ramp wearing face masks. The colour palette predominantly consisted on blue, white and yellow.

"Through my collection, I was in a space which is larger than life and it is not complete with something which takes you off to the unimaginative space of cinema," she said.
