The CNX Nifty firmed up by 38 pts to close at fresh one-month high at 8,458.95 on fag-end buying mainly in IT, Finance and Energy sectors.
The CNX Nifty resumed higher at 8,432.5 and hovered in a range of 8,489.55 and 8,420.60 before concluding at fresh one-month high at 8,458.95, disclosing a gain of 37.95 points ot 0.45 pct.
It had last ended at 8,606.00 on April 17, 2015.

The CNX IT rose by 0.95 pct, CNX RFinance 0.78 pct and CNX Energy 0.78 pct.
Major gainers were HDFC (2.56 pct), TCS (2.44 pct), Sun Pharma (2.29 pct), Techm (1.75 pct) and Lupin (1.53 pct).
However, Ultracem fell by 2.91 pct followed by SBI 2.69 pct, IDEA 2.56 pct, Hindalco 1.58 pct and VEDL 1.34 pct.
Turnover in the cash segment rose further to Rs 18,333.24 crs from Rs 15,812.95 crs yesterday.
A total of 7,466,13 lakh shares changed hands in 71,84,263 trades and the total market capitalisation of the NSE stood at Rs 1,00,13,651 crore.
