NSE Nifty ended marginally higher by 13 points amid a strong bout of volatility, tracking positive global cues on the back of fresh buying in Media, Energy, FMCG, PSU Bank and Realty counters.
However, IT and auto stocks showed weakness.
Overseas, most European shares were trading higher as strength in financials and commodity-related stocks continued to underpin the region's equity markets.
