Nigerian among two held for drug peddling in Goa

Goa police today seized narcotics worth Rs 24 lakh after conducting raids in the state's coastal belt and arrested a Nigerian and a local peddler.

The raids were conducted by the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) at Parra and Anjuna villages in North Goa, an official said, adding the sleuths have seized synthetic drugs from the duo.

The ANC arrested Nigerian, Chucks Egbo for allegedly possessing 65 pieces of LSD (Lysergic acid diethylamide) paper weighing 0.7 gms worth Rs 3.25 lakhs from Parra village, a centre of activity for the nationals of the African nation.

In a separate raid, the sleuths apprehended one Allan Bainbridge from Anjuna village for allegedly carrying 6.6 gms of LSD liquid and 11.4 gms of MDMA, widely known as "ecstasy", collectively worth Rs 21 lakh, the official added.
