About 30 armed Nigerian nationals, allegedly involved in illegal drug trade, engaged in a bloody clash in south Delhi's Khirki Extension area leaving one man seriously injured and the residents terrified.

The incident, which was caught on CCTV, took place around 4 pm yesterday in the J block area at Khirki Extension.

According to locals, around 30 men fought from both sides with daggers, meat cleavers and sickles. They also claimed that the fight was over supremacy among two gangs who run a drug syndicate in the area.

Police, however, downplayed the incident saying the fight was among groups of friends over some petty issue.

A man identified as Johnson suffered serious stab wounds and has been admitted to Max hospital where his condition is stated to be serious.

The statement of the victim was recorded and a case has been registered at Malviya Nagar police station.

"We have seen the CCTV footage but the faces of individuals are not clear. We are trying to identify the attackers and further investigations are on," said a police official.

Residents of the area claimed that the Nigerians living in the area regularly fight among themselves but yesterday's bloody clash has left them terrified. They also said the police was being indifferent to the incidents.
