The man, identified as Ufondu Anthony Chuwuzubelu (32) alias Chrish Johnson, a resident of Lagos State in Nigeria, was arrested on July 14, a police release said.

Several mobile phones, a laptop and Rs seven lakh were seized from him, it said.

This was after a woman filed a complaint against him, saying he told her that she had won 85,000 pounds in an e-lottery and that had to pay Rs 22 lakh to claim it.

He subsequently cheated her of the amount.
