Nigeria's counter-insurgency spokesman says the military is focusing on a northeastern forest where officials believe more than 200 schoolgirls kidnapped a year ago are being held.
Information director Mike Omeri told reporters today that the outgoing government of President Goodluck Jonathan "remains resolute in finding and returning them to their homes."
Parents and community leaders dismissed the statement as political nonsense. They said their information indicates the girls were moved from Sambisa Forest within weeks of their abduction.
