A Nigerian national has been arrested for his alleged role in drug trafficking and 37 gram cocaine worth Rs 30 lakh in the international market was seized from him, police said today.
Acting on a tip-off, Ifeanyi Alexander Obi (33) was arrested from Laxmi Nagar Metro station on Saturday.
"We received information that Obi will come to deliver the consignment to a contact. A trap was laid and at the instance of the informer, he was apprehended and 37 gram cocaine was recovered from his possession," Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime and Railways) Ravindra Yadav said.
During interrogation, Obi told police that he came to Delhi in April 2013 on business visa and started drug trafficking in connivance with a fellow Nigerian.
