Six Nigerian students were taken into custody today for allegedly assaulting a bus conductor following an altercation between them over travel passes.
"We have taken into custody six Nigerian students for assaulting a bus conductor who asked them to produce their travel passes," Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Sandeep Patil told PTI here.
The refusal of the Nigerians to produce passes resulted in a verbal duel between them and the conductor after which the latter was assaulted, Patil said.
Police have registered a cased based on the complaint by the conductor and driver of the bus, Patil said.
