CBFC chairman Pahlaj Nihalani today welcomed the I&B ministry's decision to form a panel, to be headed by veteran filmmaker Shyam Benegal, for revamping of the censor board.

Nihalani, who has been at the centre of the storm for his controversial decisions in clearing the films, hoped that the new guidelines will be conducive to everyone.

"There are good people in the committee and I am confident that they will bring new reforms. The government's decision is welcome. Whatever be the new guidelines and rating system, we will follow that according to the situation," Nihalani told PTI.

The producer said that the recommendations of Mudgal committee in 2013 were not implemented so there was a need to look into the matter.

When asked whether he will be asked to resign, Nihalani said, "I have nothing to say about that. I don't want to comment.
