Last year in June, high-wire artist, Nik Wallenda created a record of being the first person to cross the Grand Canyon in the US on a wire.
This time, 35-year-old's most challenging tightrope walk yet - across two city blocks across a high-wire stretched between two skyscrapers around 50 story high- is being telecast live across 22 countries, including India by Discovery on November 3.
Wallanda, is set to do the stunt blindfolded and without a safety net or harness, in tune with the tradition of his family.
For the first part of the tightrope crossing, Nik is set to walk further than two city blocks - uphill rising to a 15-degree angle - from the iconic Marina City's west tower to the Leo Burnett building at more than 50 stories high above the Chicago river.
When asked why he chose Chicago's skyscrapers Nik said, "I've loved this city for a long time. Chicago is home of the world's first skyscraper. My family's made a living off of skyscrapers and walking from one to another for generations. And again it's known as the Windy City. I think that adds excitement."
While walking the tightrope is risky, doing so at night adds to the excitement for the man whose family had earned the moniker "the Flying Wallandas" for their dare devil stunts on the tightrope, which also earned them many world records including the Guiness.
