Nikita, Neel cruise into round two of squash tourney

Nikita Joshi and Neel Joshi today sailed into the second round after scoring easy first round victories in the Open Under-21 singles at the Rs 2 lakh prize money JVPG-SRAM Winter Squash Open 2016.

Nikita was in complete control and eased past Rohit Mishra 11-0 11-6, while Neel also had things much his own way to oust Kaival Shah 11-3 11-1 in the tournament being played at the Juhu Vile Parle Gymkhana Club here.

In men's singles first round matches, Rahul Arora and Druv Vazirani recorded contrasting victories.

Arora cruised to a fluent 11-2 11-3 win over Rohit Prabhu, while Vazirani beat back a spirited fight from Prashant Sagar before pulling through in three games, winning 11-8 7-11 12-10.
 

In other men's matches, Aryan Parekh defeated Amandeep Boparai 11-3 11-8 and Aditya Jaiswal tamed Virendra Pawar 11-2 11-3 to advance to the second round.
