Nine Bihar MLAs take oath

Nine out of 10 newly-elected MLAs today took oath of membership of the state legislative assembly.

Speaker Uday Narayan Chaudhary administered oath to nine new MLAs at a function held in the state legislature annexe.

Those newly-elected legislators who took oath are : Rashmi Verma, Ram Narayan Mandal, Awadesh Singh and Niranjan Ram (all BJP); Ram Avtar Paswan and Randhir Kumar Singh (both RJD); Ramanand Prasad Singh and Rishi Mishra (JD-U) and Ajit Sharma (Congress).

RJD MLA Ajay Bulganin, who was elected from Mohiuddinagar seat in by-polls held in ten assembly seats recently, could not reach the state legislature premises on time to take oath.
 

He later met the Speaker who told him that his swearing-in will be held on a later date.
