Nine held for selling illegal fire crackers

The accused were arrested from different places in the city while carrying fire crackers for the purpose of selling them, according to the police.

The government has banned fire crackers as a precautionary security measure during the Diwali festival.

Fire crackers are mainly brought from India through illegal channel. However, the government has warned that any one selling fire crackers will be penalized.
