Nine injured in bus accident

Nine persons were injured, four of the seriously when a bus met with an accident on a flyover on National Highway - 2 in Gaya district of Bihar in the early hours today, a police official said.

The accident happened under Dobhi police station in the district and the injured have been admitted to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital (ANMMCH) after first aid at a nearby Primary Health Centre (PHC).

Dobhi Station House Officer Madhusudan Kumar said, "The bus was travelling from Daudnagar in Aurangabad to Ranchi and around 50 persons were in it. The driver lost control of the vehicle while it was on a flyover. It broke the road divider, jumped to the other side, broke the railing of the flyover and dangled from it."
 

The SHO added that the locals rescued the passengers. A major tragedy could have taken place had the bus fallen off the flyover.
