Nine 'kanwarias' killed in road accidents

Nine 'kanwarias' were today killed in separate road accidents in Bihar's Jamui and Saran districts, police said here.

A car carrying five 'kanwarias' on a return journey from pilgrimage to Lord Shiva temple in Deoghar collided with a speeding truck near Dichhwe village in Jamui in the wee hours, they said.

All five occupants of the vehicle died on the spot, they said, adding four of the victims have been identified as Manish Kumar (26), Ashok Kumar (27), Vishal Kumar (28) and Manoj Kumar (26).

The victims hailed from Nalanda and Patna districts.

In a related incident in Saran district, four 'kanwarias' were killed after a jeep in which they travelling lost control and overturned near Chhapia village on Taraiya-Mashrakh road this morning, Marhaura Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Kundan Kumar said.
 

While two 'Kanwarias' died on the spot, two others succumbed to injuries at Mashrakh Primary Health Centre (PHC), he said, adding that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.

The victims hailed from Rajapatti village under Mashrakh police station area, Kumar said.
