Nine killed in two road accidents in Pakistan

At least seven persons were killed and eight others injured today when a passenger bus collided head-on with a trailer in Pakistan's Sindh province.

The accident occurred in Nooriabad area near Jamshoro district. Four of the eight injured were in critical condition, the Dawn reported

The passenger bus was travelling from Hyderabad to Karachi when it rammed into the trailer.

The injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital after police and rescue teams reached the accident site.

Meanwhile, in another road accident two people were killed when two trailers collided on a highway in Naushehro Feroz district of Sindh province.
 

The trailers were heading to Karachi from Punjab when the collision occurred in the Nago Shah area, kindling fire in both the vehicles that burnt their drivers to death.

The bodies were shifted to a nearby hospital by rescue teams.

Pakistan has one of the world's worst records for fatal traffic accidents owing to dilapidated roads, poorly maintained vehicles and reckless driving.
