At least nine persons, including three women, were killed in two separate accidents which occurred in morning hours today on a national highway near here, police said.
While six persons were killed when their SUV collided with a mini-truck near Sarodhi bridge, three youths died after the motorcycle they were riding rammed into a truck which was parked near a sugar factory on the highway.
According to police, the collision occurred apparently after the driver of the SUV lost his control over the vehicle, which jumped a road divider before landing in opposite lane.
