The city police arrested nine men, including three rowdy sheeters, in connection with the murder of a 28-year-old rowdy sheeter and double murder case accused named T Anil Kumar, who was murdered near Allipuram area under Two Town police station limits on May 8.
DCP (Law and Order, Zone-II) C M Trivikram Varma told reporters here today that the police is still hunting for three more persons, adding that it appeared to be a case of revenge killing.
He said that Anil Kumar was arrested on charges of a double murder case in 2011 and was released on bail. He had rivalry with several people over financial matters and he had also threatened relatives and witnesses in the double murder case, the police official said.

Chittibabu had hatched the plan and formed a gang of Anil Kumars's victims to kill him, the police official said.
On May 8, Anil Kumar picked up a fight with Tenki Ramana over a financial transaction beat him up. Chittibabu and his gang was closely watching Anil Kumar's movements. They went to Allipuram, where Anil Kumar was present and questioned why he beat up Ramana, the police official said.
The police official said that Chittibabu and three others attacked Anil Kumar and killed him that night.
Later, the police arrested Merugu Chittibabu, Ambati Madhusudhana Rao, Karri Appanna, T Laxman, A Satish, T Arya Kumar, Botta Narasimha Murthy, P Vijay Kumar and T Appala Raju, while Shanmukha, R V Siva Kiran alias Podugu Kiran and Madhu are still at large, the police official said.
The police also seized seven swords, iron rods, an autorickshaw as well as two motorbikes, which were used in the crime, from the gang, the police official said.
