The perceptible nip in the air and shallow fog early in the morning are heralding the onset of winter in the national capital.

According to Dr B P Yadav, Director at India Meteorological Department (IMD), there are clear indications suggesting that winter is approaching.

"Western disturbances have become more frequent as compared to last year, the wind pattern has changed and there is a dip in the temperature particularly at night time," Yadav said.

The maximum temperature today settled at 32.3 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year while the minimum was recorded two notches below the normal at 16.6 degrees.

The humidity in air wavered between 39 and 88 per cent.

The weather department has predicted a clear sky for tomorrow with mist or haze in the morning. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 33 and 17 degrees Celsius.
