Minister of State for Commerce Nirmala Sitharaman will tie 'rakhi' to security personnel guarding the Sino-Indian border in Tawang.

Accompanied by Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju, Sitharaman will attend a special function in the border town in Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday, on the occasion of 'Rakshabandhan' on Thursday.

Rijiju said Sitharaman will tie 'rakhi' to security personnel deployed in the icy heights along the border with China.

Union Textiles Minister Smriti Irani is expected to visit Siachen Base camp on 'Rakshabandhan' while Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti, Women and Child Welfare Minister Maneka Gandhi will visit borders areas and interact with the soldiers.
