"The Centre withdrew the industrial package because of which the hill state lost fresh investments to the tune of Rs 56,000 crore," the BJP leader told reporters.
Nishank also accused the state government of failing to exert pressure on the Centre to revive the package and claimed that it took away nearly 2.5 lakh jobs in the state.
"This package has the potential of creating 2.5 lakh jobs. But we lost the opportunity of creating these jobs due to the withdrawal of the package," Nishank said.
He also came down heavily on the state government for failing to increase the annual plan size considerably stating that during the BJP regime the plan size had taken a huge jump from Rs 5800 crore in 2009-10 to Rs 7800 crore in 2011-12.
On the other hand, the Congress government this financial year could increase the plan size from Rs 7800 crore to only Rs 8200 crore mainly due to "bad home work".
Nishank also criticised the state government for not pleading with the Centre to get Rs 2400 crore as its share for the special category status.
He also asked drinking water minister Mantri Prasad Nainthani to clarify against whom he is organising dharnas on the issue of resuming the construction of hydel projects including GVK
