Nitin Kumar sets up final with top seed Vishnu Vardhan

Local boy and present junior U-18 national champion Nitin Kumar Sinha set up a title clash with top seed Vishnu Vardhan with a hard-fought 6-3 3-6 6-2 win over fourth seed Suraj Prabodh in the Asian Tennis Tour 2016 here today.

Nitin broke Suraj early at 1-2 with a powerful forehand winner at break point to go 3-1 up, and held on to the break, winning the set 6-3.

In the second set, Nitin started missing few ground strokes and at 1-1, double faulted twice to be broken early.

Suraj took control of the set getting into good rhythm to take a 5-1 lead en route to winning 6-3.
 

In the decider, Nitin went down 0-30 in the first three games but pulled off all the games playing solid from baseline and at times moving to the net.

In another semi-final, Vishnu Vardhan beat Nitin Kirtane 6-2 6-3 to reach the final.

Both players held their serve at 2-2 and Vishnu started attacking a lot on Nitin's backhand and came up to the net to close out the point.

With two breaks, Vishnu won the set 6-2.

In the second set, things went almost the same way with Vishnu breaking once and taking the set and match 6-3.
