Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said that his government would carve out "Guru circuit" connecting important destinations of Sikhs in the state to attract larger footfall of devotees, on the occasion of 350th Prakash Parva of Guru Govind Singh here.
Kumar announced this during concluding function of 350th Prakash Parva of 10th Sikh Guru Govind Singh which was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal at Gandhi Maidan. A replica of Golden temple of Amritsar has also been set up here.
Eulogising rich cultural heritage of Bihar, Kumar said that in addition to being birth place of 10th Guru Govind Singh, Guru Nanak, Guru Teg Bahadur and others icons of sikhism had visited the place in the past.
"We will connect all important destinations visited by these icons of Sikhism to form a Guru circuit," he said.
Takht Harmandir Saheb, Guru ka Bagh and Bal Leela Saheb, all in old Patna, Handi Saheb in Danapur, Guru Teg Bahadur gurudwara in Gaighat, Guru Nank Kund in Rajgir, Gurudwara Pacheesi in Munger and gurudwaras in Ara, Katihar, Gaya, Nawada, Sasaram and Bhagalpur would be connected with each other to form Guru circuit, he said.
He further announced to establish a multipurpose centre and garden near Guru Ka Bagh in Patna Saheb to keep a memory of the 350th Prakash Parva of 10th Sikh Guru Govind Singh.

circuit was cheered by lakhs of Sikh devotees who have thronged to Patna for the mega event.
Creation of Guru circuit is aimed at tapping the tourism potential of Sikh devotees from across the world to the state.
In his speech on the occasion of closing of 350th Prakash Parva, Kumar referred to the prohibition campaign launched by his government and urged the Prime Minister to spread it across the country.
The Bihar CM said like Prakash Parva, his government was making elaborate preparations to celebrate 100 years of Champaran Satyagraha launched by Mahatama Gandhi against British empire in 1917.
Kumar drew rich praise from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal for taking personal interest in holding the historic occasion in a grand manner.
