Nitish directs establishment of veterinary university in Bihar

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today gave direction for establishement of a veterinary university here for better upkeep of animals.

Kumar gave direction to set up a veterinary university in the campus of the existing veterinary college while reviewing functioning of Animal Husbandry department here.

An official statement quoting Principal Secretary Animal Husbandry Department Narmadeshwar Lal said that the CM gave a strict instruction to achieve timely vaccination of animals by launching special drive.

He also stressed on the establishment of veterinary hospitals at the state and district level.

It was decided in the review meeting that people living below poverty line would be provided hen and goat for their livelihood.
 

To promote fishery, it was decided that necessary action would be taken for establishment of fish federation and fish feed meal to encourage fish rearing in the state.
