Hitting out at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for making a number of announcements, the BJP today said he has turned into an "announcement minister" and asked him to "announce only such schemes that could be completed in the next four months" before the model code of conduct for the Assembly elections comes into force.
"Instead of Chief Minister, Kumar has become announcement minister. He is breaking all records in making announcements. It seems his only ambition is to become a man known for announcements through his name on foundation stones and plaques," said BJP state president Mangal Pandey.
"He should announce only such schemes that could be completed in the next four months before the model code of conduct comes into force," Pandey added.

He added that a majority of the announcements made by the Chief Minister remains unfulfilled as the government departments cannot implement them due to the lack of funds.
"Kumar should desist from misleading the public by making tall announcements, as he will be in trouble if the people seek information about their implementation. Take the example of roads. He says people from any part of the state can reach Patna in five hours, but it takes that much of time to reach the capital from Bihta, and three hours to reach Hajipur from here, just across the Ganga along the city," Pandey said.
The state BJP president was speaking on the occasion of eminent folk singer Bharat Sharma Vyas, and Nutan Singh, wife of Chhatapur MLA Niraj Singh 'Babloo' joining the saffron party with their supporters.
"Singh's joining will strengthen the BJP in the Kosi region, while Sharma will energise it in the Shahabad area. We welcome them to our party," Pandey added.
