Nitish Kumar pays floral tribute to wife

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today paid floral tribute to his wife Manju Sinha on her ninth death anniversary.

He garlanded the statue of his wife at Kankarbagh in Patna and at his native Kalyanbigha village in Harnaut block of Nalanda district.

Kumar also garlanded the statue of his freedom fighter father Kaviraj Ramlakhan Singh and mother Parmeshwari Devi at Smriti Vatika in Kalyanbigha. The family of the Chief Minister accompanied him, an official release said.

His son Nishant Kumar, elder brother Satish Kumar, elder sister Usha Devi and younger sister Indu Kumari also paid tribute to Manju Sinha who died in 2007, it said.
 

She got married to Nitish Kumar in 1973.

Kumar prayed at Devi Mandir in Kalyanbigha and sought peace and prosperity for the citizens of the state, the release stated, adding he stayed in the village for nearly half-an-hour and interacted with the locals.

JD(U)'s Rajya Sabha member R C P Singh and a host of legislators and party leaders accompanied the Chief Minister.
