Nitish, Lalu pay rich tributes to Kishori Sinha

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today paid floral tributes to former Congress MP from Vaishali, Kishori Sinha, who died here yesterday after prolonged illness.

As a mark of respect to the departed leader, the CM postponed Aurangabad leg of his "Nishchay yatra" scheduled for tomorrow.

The Aurangabad visit of the CM would be clubbed with the yatra he would undertake of other districts in Magadh region later on, an official statement said here.

Kumar reached Boring road residence of Sinha and paid rich floral tributes to her.

Sinha (90) breathed her last in a private hospital here.

She was wife of Congress stalwart and former Bihar Chief Minister Satyendra Narayan Sinha and mother of ex-Delhi police commissioner and former Kerala Governor Nikhil Kumar.
 

She was MP from Vaishali twice from 1980 to 1989 from Congress.

The CM told reporters that her last rites would be performed with state honour.

In addition, he said a statue of the departed leader would be installed near the one of her late husband Satyendra Narain Sinha in the state capital.

RJD President Lalu Prasad and former Chief ministers Jagannath Mishra and Jitan Ram Manjhi also visited residence of the departed leader to pay tributes to her.
