Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today ordered the transfer of original revisional survey map of eastern districts that went to Jharkhand after the state's bifurcation in 2000.

"This will be a good gesture from Bihar towards Jharkhand and it is hoped that other pending issues between the two states could also be resolved in the same spirit," Kumar said.

Kumar accepted former Jharkhand chief minister Babulal Marandi's plea during a meeting with him over the issue here, an official statement said.

The Bihar Chief Minister ordered that the cadastral or revisional survey map of revenue villages of the districts that went to Jharkhand be transferred to that state.

Jharkhand was bifurcated from Bihar in November 2000.

Babulal Marandi, who was in BJP at that time, was the first chief minister of Jharkhand.

Development Commissioner Shishir Kumar Sinha, Principal Secretary Revenue and Land Reform Vyasji and CM's Secretary Chanchal Kumar, Atish Chandra and Manish Kumar Verma were present at the meeting.
