Making a veiled attack on his rival Lalu Prasad, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said there are people who wasted opportunity given by voters for long and were now making false promises to be elected again.
"When voters gave opportunity to them to serve the people they wasted it. Now they are making false promises to the people of doing wonderful things to take them for a ride again," Kumar said addressing an election rally here in favour of JD(U) candidate for Maharajganj Lok Sabha by-poll P K Shahi.
Shahi is pitted against RJD's Prabhunath Singh and Congress' Jitendra Swami.

"Nobody wishes to return to those dark days when kidnapping and extortion were rampant in Bihar," Kumar said about the 15 year-long RJD rule in the state.
Highlighting the achievements of NDA government in Bihar, he said an environment of faith and harmony has been created to pave the way for development of the state.
"Bihar is no longer talked of outside for its bad law and order but for the cycle yojna for girls, women empowerment and welfare of minorities and weaker sections," he said.
Accompanied by Shahi, state JD(U) President Bashist Narayan Singh and a large number of NDA leaders, Kumar sought support from masses to keep up the momentum of development.
