NMC demands 'National Pay Policy'

"Union government should formulate a National Pay Policy. Any pay commission set up by the Centre in future should cover central and state employees so that its recommendations are implemented simultaneously throughout the country to avoid any heart burning or agitation in any state," NMC president Subash Shastri said in a May Day rally here.

May Day should be declared as national holiday so that people remember the sacrifices of people in 1886, who laid their lives for the betterment and protection of rights of working class of the world, he said.

The NMC chief also demanded formation of a policy for regularising the daily wagers working in Rural Development Department and other departments after completion of 7 years of service.

 

Shastri urged upon Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to enhance the income tax exemption limit up to Rs four lakh to provide relief to the salaried class in view of steep price in prices of essential commodities. PTI AB DK KAS SHS
