NMDC sets up subsidiary for steel plant in Jharkhand;

Country's top iron ore miner NMDC today said it has incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary company for developing a steel plant in Jharkhand through the Special Purpose Vehicle.

"The company has incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary company by the name 'Jharkhand Kolhan Steel Ltd' on September 24, 2015 for development of steel Plant in the state of Jharkhand through SPV route," NMDC Ltd said in a regulatory filing.

NMDC at present produces about 30 million tonnes of iron ore. It has set a target of Rs 13,500 crore in turnover for the current fiscal as per a pact signed with the government in which it has also set a production target of 35 million tonnes for the current fiscal.
