At least 30 activists of a fringe Tamil outfit were arrested here today when they tried to stage a demonstration in front of Karnataka Association office here, in protest against attacks on Tamils in that state over the Cauvery issue.
The activists of Naam Tamizhar Katchi (NMK), led by its district secretary Wahab raised slogans against Karnataka and proceeded to the association hall in Tatabad, police said.
However, police stopped them near the Association building and they were arrested.

P Senthilkumar told reporters after a meeting of the association that 12 buses had been severely damaged in the last two days.
Considering the prevailing situation, it was decided not to ply buses to Karnataka till normalcy returned in that state, the Secretary of the association added.
Yesterday, one person was killed and another injured in police firing in Bengaluru after widespread violence erupted in that city and other parts of Karnataka following the Supreme Court's modified order on sharing Cauvery water by the two riparian states.
The Apex Court, modifying its September 5 order, had asked Karnataka to release a reduced amount of 12,000 cusecs of Cauvery River water to Tamil Nadu tillSeptember 20.
The Court had on Sept 5 directed release of 15,000 cusecs for 10 days to ameliorate the plight of farmers of Tamil Nadu, triggering strong protests from farmers and pro-Kannada outfits with Karnataka observing a bandh against it on September 9.
