With the railways suspending the service of Nilgiris Mountain Railway between Mettupalayam and Coonoor for the fourth consecutive day today, owing to land slides, the woes of tourists and passengers continued.
Even as restoration works of the track which was full of mud and boulders for the last three days were being carried out, incessant rains were playing spoilsport as land slides occur in newer places prompting the authorities to cancel the services, railway sources said.
With the debris and loose soil almost cleared, the service of Heritage train is expected to resume tomorrow, they claimed.
The services were suspended from October 23, following landslide near Aderlay Station, necessitating to take the 143 stranded passengers by road.
