We did not have any report of killing of animals during the hunting festival, Chief Conservator (Wildlife), A K Gupta said.

Gupta said the adequate force led by senior officials have been deputed around the Dalma forest, where hundreds of tribals laced with traditional weapons from East Singhbhum district and adjoining Bengal and Odisha have reportedly entered last night to observer the festival today, to prevent tribals from poaching animals.

One person, whose identity was yet to be established, was arrested after he entered the Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary with a rifle.

The fire-arm has been seized, Divisional Forest Officer (wildlife) Kamlesh Pandey said. PTI BS
