Not a single Bru turned up for identification as bona fide residents of Mizoram at Hamsapara relief camp in North Tripura on the second day of verification by Mizoram government officials today.
Additional Secretary for Home, Mizoram, Lalbiakzama told PTI that while none appeared before the authorities at the camp during the day, six people belonging to two families came forward on the first day of verification yesterday.
The six persons were the only Brus to have turned up so far for identification to be repatriated to Mizoram since the repatriation process, as per the Road Map-IV, commenced from June 2, he said.

Lalbiakzama said the repatriation process would continue according to the road map, approved by the Supreme Court, till September 4, even if majority of the Brus lodged in the six relief camps in Tripura refused to return to Mizoram.
The apex court had instructed the centre and the state governments of Mizoram and Tripura to repatriate all the Brus lodged in the six relief camps in Tripura within six months.
Around 11,440 people belonging to 3,455 Bru families were proposed to be repatriated during the last round of repatriation, he said adding that a total number of 8,573 belonging to 1,622 families have returned during the official efforts made to repatriate them and also by self-repatriation till date.
