Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today said that the state government has not given consent for construction of the Middle Siang hydel project in Arunachal Pradesh.
"Assam government has not given any go ahead for the Middle Siang project," Gogoi said in a statement here.
"Inspite of the denial of the state government, Union Minister for Water Resources Uma Bharti continued to repeat that the Centre (has) got the state government's consent for the hydel project," he said.
Her repeated assertion of receiving state government's consent for the project is nothing but an attempt to hoodwink the people which is an inherent character of the NDA Government, Gogoi added.
