No dearth of funds for health services in Delhi: Sheila

Heatlh services in the city will not face any dearth of funds and the government is trying to improve health services for patients coming from other states, said Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit here today.

"The government is concentrating on maintenance and upkeep in hospitals and is keen to increase the number of beds by one and a half times within two years," she said at a Doctors Day celebration at Maulana Azad Medical College.

Dikshit presented cash awards to 20 doctors and 50 paramedical staff for their contribution to the profession.

Speaking at the occasion Delhi Health Minister Ashok Walia said the state government is trying to fill the vacant post of doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff as quickly as possible.
 

"The role of the paramedical staff is important in the hospitals and the government is also taking step to improve their service conditions," he added.
