No dharnas in Muktsar, Fatehgarh Sahib by Cong on Jan 5

Punjab Congress today said it will not hold the proposed dharna, demanding dismissal of the Parkash Singh Badal government in the state for allegedly inciting people against the security forces, at district headquarter of Fatehgarh Sahib and Muktsar on January 5.

Fatehgarh Sahib has been exempted in view of the demise of Baba Ajit Singh Hansaliwale yesterday, Punjab Congress President Partap Singh Bajwa in a statement here.

The protest will not be held also at Muktsar as Gidderbaha Congress MLA Amarinder Singh Raja Warring will take over as President of the Indian Youth Congress on January 5 in New Delhi, he further said.
 

The main opposition party in Punjab, the Congress had announced to hold sit-in at all the district headquarters in the state on January 5 demanding dismissal of the Parkash Singh Badal government in the state for allegedly inciting people against the security forces which amounted to "anti-national act."

This move came after SAD deciding to hold three dharna on international borders check points on January 5 near "to create awareness about drugs as well as focus on the need for greater vigilance along the border with Pakistan.
